What you can expect

In a typical massage therapy session, you will be asked to fill out a brief health history. At this time you may make any sensitive areas known to your therapist. Together, we will develop a treatment that is suited to you.

You will be directed to a private room where you will be given some instruction on what to do. You will be asked to undress to your own comfort level and to lie on the massage table with a drape over your body.

The therapist will leave the room for a few minutes while you prepare yourself for the massage. When the therapist returns he will ask you if you are comfortable and make any adjustments to the table that are required.

You will be fully draped at all times. The drape will be folded back to expose only the area that the therapist is working on. The therapist will "check in" with you occasionally to make sure you are comfortable and that the pressure of the massage is appropriate to your needs.

The therapist will only talk if you want to talk. This is your hour and the goal is relaxation. There will be suitable music in the background to enhance your enjoyment of the massage.

After the massage, the therapist will leave the room while you slowly get up and dress. There will be a brief time for any feedback that you care to share.
